Incident: Yacht with fouled propeller

At 13.34hrs our watchkeepers heard a call from a yacht reporting that their propeller had been fouled by a net, and they needed assistance.

Our volunteers were contacted by His Majesty’s Coastguard (HMCG) at 13.50 and they confirmed the yacht was in sight and was being assisted by the fishing charter boat ‘Southern Angler’.

At 14.33, the RNLI Exmouth Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) was tasked to assist and at 15.06, the stricken yacht was freed.
