Person trapped in tipped lorry

On Tuesday (3rd June) our volunteer watchkeepers heard communications from the radios we monitor about a lorry that had tipped over on the beach near the sailing club. Emergency services were called as a person was reported to be trapped inside. We used our CCTV to monitor the situation and update HM Coastguard.

Emergency services released the person, who was unharmed.

Although NCI Exmouth were not involved our watchkeepers became the "Eyes" for the coastguard. HMCG thanked us and said they were already accessing the situation.

The All weather Lifeboat, which was on a training exercise nearby, were stood down followed by the ILB.

This is an example of how we use our technology to update HMCG and monitor other assets
