At 12.58 we were asked by HMCG for a visual on a RIB reportedly adrift in channel. Confirmed visual.
13.00 Observation was maintained as the RSB was taking RIB in tow and at 13.06 HMCG were advised accordingly.
At 18.15hrs on 20th August, our volunteer watchkeepers received a radio call on VHF CH65 from a catamaran declaring that they have no power and were at anchor 5 miles south of Orcombe Point. This was passed to the His Majesty’s Coastguard (HMCG) by a 999 call. The Coastguard established radio contact with the catamaran and a Pan Pan call was issued at 18.33hrs.
At 18.50hrs, the RNLI Exmouth AWLB, already out on exercise, came alongside and towed the stricken catamaran back to the estuary.
Another successful cooperation between NCI Exmouth, RNLI Exmouth, and the HM Coastguard.
At 12.05 NCI Observed inflatable kayak capsized in channel with 2 persons attempting to re-board

12.11 PRC (Personal Rescue Craft) arrived on scene and both casualties rescued.

At 1429 Call from Solent CG: 2 girls, 4 y. o. and 5 y. o. reported missing. Last seen heading E from Premier Inn along beach (about 25 minutes before). CG request assistance. WKs utilised optics and CCTV for 20+ minutes – no sighting
At 1454 The 2 girls were found towards Orcombe Point by Police
At 14.28, A Member of the public On Ch 65, reported three girls drifting with tide on paddleboard. The Casualties were located on CCTV and NCI contacted the Lifeguards who reported they had eyes on.
At 14.32, A Further radio call received from the Member of Public, he was in a sailing dingy close to the casualties, NCI explained that lifeguards had been contacted
At 14.34, NCI made 999 call made to HMCG who will contact LGs
At 14.46, Lifeguards on Rescue water craft on scene and 2 girls recovered to shore. Member of public in dinghy assisting remaining casualty.
At 14.57, Lifeguards returned third casualty to shore.
At 14.20, watchkeepers observed a plume of black smoke arising close to Marina. They were also contacted on CH65 from a boat to advise on fire in estuary. Advised HMCG, who were already aware.
At 14.35, assistance was given to extinguish the fire, and at 14.46, the smoke ceased.
At 14.15, HMCG had received report from MoP of broken down jetski off Orcombe Point and asked us for sighting. Our watchkeepers scanned the area using optics and CCTV and at 14.26 confirmed nothing seen. MoP had confirmed that casualty now safely ashore.
At 18.35 Following a report of paddleboarder in distress, HMCG requested eyes on from NCI
NCI Confirmed only paddleboarder visible was walking on Pole Sands.
